Keep in mind that with US recipes cups can represent both weigh and volume. Be careful to note the difference between the two. 1 cup in weight is equal to 8 oz. but 8 oz. of dry goods (like crackers, for example) measured by volume would far exceed 1 cup. This is something to note when converting to metric as well, as you'll need to know if you are converting to ml or gm values. Be sure to use our portion guide for some helpful examples.
